Course Objective

Liquid metal die-solid products, which is decisive in transforming the correct sizing and positioning of feeder that allows runners and give the determination of the basic criteria.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to identify production with method of casting part
2   To relate the shape of the mold material solidification.
3   According to the shape of the solidification sprue parts feeder, a goner, climber to calculate sizing.
4   Determine positioning of the points of the mold gating system
5   To detect the weight of cast iron parts
6   Gating the ability to design custom molding applications.

Course Contents

1 Model design to be considered. Design errors.
2 Determination of the appropriate mold and die casting technique the desired track.
3 Behavior and the effect of casting solidification structure.
4 Factors in the progression of solidification and solidification simulation.
5 Part of gravity calculation methods.
6 Cash and sediment types
7 Mid-term exam
8 Mid-term exam
9 Feeder calculations and dimensioning
10 Sprue nozzle cross-section calculation and design of a goner
11 Types of coolant
12 Runner goner coolant feeder calculations, depending on the model design and casting.
13 The filter feeder applications shirt
14 Runner cast from feeder faults.
