Course Objective

Students learn installation of the control components. Furthermore, through this lesson they learn how to start to run or how to change direction of rotation and how to brake single- phase and three- phase asynchronous motors by using electrical control circuit' s components.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to explain how to run three- phase asynchronous motors continuously and discontinuously.
2   Be able to draw the necessary electrical control circuit for changing direction of rotation of three- phase asynchronous motors.
3   Be able to tell how to start to run three- phase asynchronous motors by using resistors.
4   Be able to understand how to start to run three- phase asynchronous motors by using reactances or autotransformators.
5   Be able to explain how to change direction of rotation of single- phase asynchronous motors.
