Course Objective

In this lesson it is intended to teach to find the rightpins of asynchronous and synchronous machines, to wire asynchronous and synchronous machines up the circuit and to operate them.

2   To be able to explain the operation of synchronous motors.
3   To be able to understand the operation of generators.
4   To be able to classify asynchronous and synchronous motors.
5   To be able to discriminate between 1-phase and 3-phase motors.

5 Generators: structure, factors affecting the induced emf, power, star delta connections
6 Operation of generators and voltage regulation

11 Parallel operation of generators
12 Structure of Synchronous Motors, operation principles, starting, effects of low and high excitation
