Course Objective

Teach the basic tasks and oncologic information which required to understand the properties of the oncologic diseases, psychosocial problems of cancer patients, realize the cancer treatment side effects and to play a role in clinical trials

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Obtain information about what cancer is and how it formed.
2   Gain an awareness of the natural history of cancer.
3   Obtain information about frequency, distribution of age and gender of cancer and factors playing a role in the formation.
4   Describe cancer prevention, screening and early diagnosis.
5   Describe the processes for the diagnosis, staging and treatment decision of cancer
6   Obtain information about surgery, radiotherapy, systemic therapies.
7   Gain awareness about the importance of cancer clinical trials
8   Describe the terms of cancer supportive care, rehabilitation, psycho-social approach, cancer control.
9   Gain ability to use basic oncology knowledge with some observations in the daily practice of oncology .
