Course Objective

The aim of this lecture is to introduce the students with the tools and instruments used in clinical laboratories, as well as to teach them the basic principles and methods regarding these instruments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns the SI coding system and standard substances used in laboratories
2   Learns to prepare and use the standard solutions.
3   Gets to know the general properties of the tools and instruments used in laboratories.
4   Gets to recognize the analyzers used in clinical laboratory applications.
5   Gets acquainted with the spectrophotometric instruments.
6   Gains the ability to apply basic maintenance service to the tools and instruments.
7   Gets informed about various technological methods used in clinical laboratories.
8   Comprehends and operates the software used in laboratory instruments.
