Course Objective

This course aims to teach the general characteristics of microorganisms that cause infections in humans, their classification, the factors that play a role in the formation of infectious diseases caused by these microorganisms, the ways of transport and the general characteristics of prevention methods. It is aimed to learn the general features and components of the immune system that play a role in the development of infectious diseases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Categorizes the microorgasm. Define the differences between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
2   The student can explain the properties of microorganisms.
3   The student can explain the relationship between microorganisms and infectious diseases.
4   The student can list the infectious agents, transmission routes, prevention and basic treatment principles.
5   The student can explain the basic mechanisms of action and resistance development of antibiotics.
6   The student can explain the mechanisms that provide protection from infection and immunization
