Course Objective

The aim of this course is to raise awareness about the protection of industrial heritage. The aim of this course is to discuss the concepts of industrial archeology / industrial heritage and discuss the possibility of reusing historical industrial structures that have lost their original function.

1   Describe the architectural characteristics of historical industrial buildings
2   Describe the concepts of cultural heritage, industrial heritage / industrial archeology
3   Explain the development of industrial archeology
4   Discuss protection issues of industrial heritage
5   Discuss the possibilities of re-functioning of historical industrial structures
