Course Objective

The objective of the course is to give to the candidates of architecture general knowledge about the forms of conduct of the architectural profession, the legal limitations and Regulatory information, professional audit, settlements, planning, urban problems and the legal dimension of implementation

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lecture: Transfer of information on the subject will be the instructor's course
Technical visit: Technical visit to the the local planning authority (There will be no technical trips due to the pandemic in the Spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year)
Guest Presentations: Professional architects will be presentations
Homework: Until the end of the semester students are asked to prepare a portfolio.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1. The mid-term exam will include the topics described before. At least one or more questions will be asked from each subject. The questions can be open-ended or multiple-choice tests (Homework will be taken instead of midterm exam due to the pandemic in 2020-2021 Fall semester).
2. The final exam will include all the topics described.
3. Participation in the course and the answers given by the student to the questions asked by the instructor during the course will be evaluated as opinion.

Assessment Criteria

Mid-term exam % 30 (LO2, LO3, LO4)
Homework / Presentation % 20 (LO1, LO2, LO4, LO5)
Final exam % 50 (LO2, LO3, LO4, LO5)
- The matters described prior to the examination will take place in the mid-term exam.
- All issues will take place in the final examination.
- During the course, class participation, and student responses to questions by the course instructor will be considered as opinion.

1. Attending at least 70 percent of lectures is mandatory.
2. Plagiarism of any type will result in disciplinary action.
3. The instructor reserves the right to give quizzes at anytime. The grades from the quizzes will be incorporated into the midterm and final exam grades..
