Course Objective

Introducing students to the surface coating techniques which are used in metallurgical and material engineering areas. Teaching these techniques, application types where they are needed, and how to analyse related data.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the surface concept,
2   Understand the importance to increase the working life of the surface of the material
3   Analyze the techniques to improve the surface properties,
4   Make choice to find the field of application of technology,
5   Understand the surface processes in terms of the heat treatment,
6   Select the surface process according to the usage area.
