Course Objective

The clothing technologies such as quality control, spreading, cutting, sewing/assembling, fusing, pressing and finishing and related technological equipments and devices are introduced. General working principles, technological details and basic maintenance/repearing of clothing machines and various devices are introduced.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to understand the importance of clothing production technologies.
2   Ability to make proper machine selection according to production process and production type
3   Ability to recognize the stitch types according to garment and fabric type
4   Associate the spreading, cutting, assembling and finishing technologies with accordance to product type
5   Ability to understand basic machine settings, usage and maintenance principles

9 Introducing the cover stitch and basic principles of cover stitch machine
10 Introducing the button and button-hole machines and basic principles of button and button-hole machines
11 Introducing the fusing and pressing systems.
12 Conveyor systems and automation technologies in clothing mills
13 2nd mid-term exam
14 Introducing folding and packaging systems, stain removal technologies
