Course Objective

Introduction of basic and special woven structures. Explanation of the properties and production methods of complex fabric structures. Teaching setting theories.

1   Ability to recognize and create derivative and compound weaves
2   Ability to apply color and weave effects
3   Ability to form motifs with different methods in single and double layer fabrics
4   Ability to describe the production techniques, structure and properties of complex fabrics
5   Ability to design weave, drafting, pegginbg and denting plans of complex fabrics
6   Ability to apply setting theories

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Presentation, Application, Problem solving, report preparation

Application: Fabrics will be woven on hand looms for the determined fabric types by student groups. Each student will prepare a total of two application reports for each woven fabric type. The content of the application report will be announced to the students.
