Textile Engineering

Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the sudents polymers that are widely used in every aspect of our lives. Besides basic concepts, mechanical properties of polymers and methods used for the production of the final products will be discussed. Also, students will be asked to create a team and select a topic related to polymers used in textile industry and then give an oral presentation to their classmates. Their
evaluations will affect the success of the student.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehend basic knowledge of polymers.
2   Interpret the structure-property relationship of polymers.
3   Predict how a polymer product is produced when came across it.
4   Interpret the mechanical properties of polymers.
5   Explain and discuss the topics they have searched via oral presentations.
6   Discuss the impacts of polymers on environment, economy and social life.
