Course Objective

Investigation of the macromolecular structure of cellulose and protein fibers in details and polymeric structures of synthetic fibers, determination of the enduses of fibers by getting detailed information of the fibers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learning the terms and chemical formulas to define the inner structure of fibers
2   The ability to assess proper methods to identify types of fiber damage after use and finishing processes
3   The ability to understand the behavior of textile fibers against chemicals used in finishing processes, considering the internal structure
4   The ability to use acquired textile chemistry knowledge to predict the performance and usage area of the fabrics
5   The ability to learn recently developed fibers, production technologies and predicting their usage area
