Course Objective

The goal of this course is to understand the fundamental digital audio concepts starting from the physical qualities of sound to digitization and processing of sound. The student taking the course should be able to apply these concepts to software he/she develops.

1   Learn the basic physical qualities of sound.
2   Learn digitization of sound.
3   Learn the processing of sound to apply various effects.
4   Learn Audio coding and transmission concepts.
5   Understand and apply audio processing tools to software development.
