Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce the experimental systems and tools used in mechanics, and to ensure the student to gain finding skills of the mechanical properties of materials.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To identify the kinds of loading (axial tension, compression, shear, bending, torsion)
2   To distinguish the materials according to their response to the loading (brittle, ductile)
3   To define the apparatus and equipments using for mechanical experiments
4   To prepare an experimental setups to find the mechanical properties of materials
5   To appraise the results of the experiments
