Course Objective

This is a specialised degree in economic geology designed to update the knowledge and skills required by geoscientists for the exploration and exploitation of mineral deposits.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Use the modern methods of geology and different disciplines of geology in understanding of a mineralisation.
2   Categorize the ore deposits according to different geological and geochemical criters.
3   Assess the differences between the subtypes of ore deposits and compare them with eachother.
4   Define lithological, tectonic, mineralogical and geochemical features between different types of ore deposits.
5   Sketch and map the essential geological features of an ore deposit and related alteration zonation in different scales.
6   Collaborate with different disiplines during e,ther in exploration or in operation of a mineralisation.
