Course Objective

In the theory of plate tectonics, To teach the effects on rocks of regional / local P-T differences developing in different tectonic settings

3 The concept of facies, degree and isograde in metamorphism
4 Paragenesis concept in metamorphism and diagrams
5 Deformation mechanism and structures
6 Metamorphic textures
7 1. Midterm Exam
8 Metamorphic reactions and thermobarometric calculations
9 Low and medium pressure metamorphism: zeolite, barrow and abukuma facies
10 High pressure metamorphism: blueschist and eclogite facies
11 High temperature metamorphism: migmatization and garnulite facies
12 Carbonate and pelitic rocks metamorphism; basic and ultrabasic rocks metamorphisms
13 Tectonic setting of metamorphism and exhumation models
