Course Objective

Translations and discussions shall be carried out on the English texts on: Basic academic terminology, business letters, basic mathematical parameters, terminology of general and structural geology, plate tectonics, basic features of the earth, earthquake and introduction to geophysics.

2 Basic academic terminology and business letters
3 Basic mathematical terminology (calculus, geometry, etc.)
4 Basic terminology of general geology (minerals, rocks, geological time scale, etc.)
5 Basic terminology of structural geology (faults, folds, anticline, syncline, etc.)
6 Basic features of layers of the earth (continental and oceanic crust, mantle, core)
7 Plate tectonics concept
8 Mid-term exam
9 Plate tectonics concept
10 Introduction to earthquakes and seismology
11 Introduction to earthquakes and seismology
12 Principles of geophysical methods
