Course Objective |
Fundamentals of foundation analysis and construction are covered in this course. Planning of site investigations, foundation cuts, subgrade modulus, selection of foundation type, and foundation analysis under earthquake loads are in the scope of this course. Special emphasis is given to field tests and analyses of foundations using field test data. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
Soil investigations and conventional methods for spread foundation analysis will be taught by the help of sample problem solutions. Besides, decision criteria regarding selection of foundation type and plan dimensions will be covered using sample presentations. Copies of the presentations will be handed over to the registered students. |
