Course Objective |
The aim of the course is to provide students with a general overview of the basic geotechnical problems that civil engineers encounter in practice and to ensure that students understand the methods of analysis of these problems. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
Course topics will be presented and applications will be performed in class for the enhancement of the subjects. Students will prepare reports on the analyses done with individually assigned data about cantilever wall, anchored sheet pile wall, effective stress analysis of downstream slope with seepage of an earth fill dam, geotechnical analysis (bearing capacity and settlement analyses) of shallow foundation. |
