Course Objective

The main objective of the course is to teach the students general technical drawings related with civil engineering. The course also aims to give the students the ability of creating any technical drawing in AutoCAD software environment including 3D and solid modeling.

1   To recognize technical drawing features
2   To sketch civil engineering structures regarding general technical drawing rules
3   To be able to realize their sketches and designs in computer environment with help of AutoCAD software
4   To use 3D drawing techniques
5   To be able to obtain scaled plots of drawings

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The main teaching method is the comprehensive explanations of graphical presentations (which are uploaded to Lecturer s personal web page). The students are demanded weekly to read and study the available presentations before their attendance. With the start of the semester, students prepare two person-specific projects covering the design of a two-storied building.
