Course Objective

Within the context of this course, subjects taught in the compulsory Hydrology course are further detailed and enriched by practical examples. To this end, general concepts in hydrology and hydrologic processes will be primarily examined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to explain general concepts in hydrology.
2   Ability to organize measured hydrologic data.
3   Ability to explain significant hydrologic subjects including hydrologic cycle, hydrologic processes, retrieval and movement of water in basins, significance of water in terms of basin performance.
4   Ability to resolve problems relating to major issues of hydrology, including water balance, precipitation analysis, evapotranspiration, infiltration, hydrograph analysis, frequency analysis.
5   Ability to relate processes in atmospheric, surface and subsurface media
6   Ability to analyze hydrologic processes for uses in the planning and design of water management systems.
