Course Objective

The course covers the topics of effective English communication, understanding and analyzing written sources in a foreign language, and preparing assignments / reports in a foreign language.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to get the gist of the lecture and mastering the structure of English
2   Ability to understand the basic points of the text by gaining reading comprehension skills
3   Ability to write (e.g. a paragraph) consistently and fluently
4   Ability to listen and carry on a conversation, discussion or debate on different subjects
5   Ability to know the basic technical terminology required by the engineering field
