Course Objective

The main objectives of the course are to introduce the biotechnology methods for the
bioconversion and recovery of the wastes, principles of the bioconversion , the
characteristics of the main groups of the waste materials like agricultural, metal
,pulp and paper , and specific technologies for the bioprocessing and the production of
the valuable products. The problems and advantages of the bioconversion, the product
arising from the operation, trends and future possibilities are discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Descripe the types of the waste materials suitable for bioconversion
2   State the usefull products obtained form bioconversion of wastes
3   Design the bioprocess system for bioconversion of waste materials
4   Relate waste processing to usefull materials with sustainable development
5   Interprete the contribution of waste bioconversion to usefull matrerials to optimal resource utilization
