Course Objective

The aim of this lesson is to introduce students to the major principles of the Turkish Commercial Insurance System,especially the Turkish Individual Pension System which regulated in The Private Pension Savings and Investment System Act numbered 4632 as a part of Turkish social security system.

1   Being able to comprehend the concept of Insurance
2   Being able to have insight into the history and origin of Insurance
3   Being able to learn about the distinctions between private insurance and social (public) insurance
4   Being able to realise the essentials of an Insurance Contract
5   Being able to apprehend the parties in an Insurance Contract
6   Being able to formulate and evaluate simple legal arguments
7   Being able to show some ability to analyse the existing law critically

7 Individual pension contract; Rights and obligations of the participant and the company
8 Retirement and pension options
9 Requirements concerning pension companies
10 Regulations concerning pension funds
11 Auditing and independent auditing
12 Penalty Clauses
