Course Objective

This lesson presents a detailed overview and role of social assistances and services in providing social protection in Turkey. Social assistances and services are provided to the people who do not have an income to continue living even at a minimum level within local measures, who live in poverty and who cannot provide their essential needs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to give a detailed explanation of what social assistances and services are and who they protect
2   Being able to be familiar with the principal features of Turkish social benefits and services law
3   Being able to learn the differences between contributory and non-contributory social security systems
4   Being able to learn about eligibility criteria for social assistances
5   Being able to learn about eligibility criteria for social services
