Course Objective

The aim of course is explaining the production planning and control process, and discussing methods used.

2 Quantitative forecasting methods, moving averages, weighted moving averages, exponential smoothing orecast errors
3 Trend analysis, forecasting with seasonal indexes
4 Linear regression analysis, multiple regression analysis
5 Demand forecasting applications with MS Excel and SPSS
6 Aggregate planning, trial-and-error method, revenue management
7 Linear programming in aggregate planning, transportation model in aggregate planning
8 Midterm exams

10 Material requirements planning (MRP)
11 Scheduling, priority rules, Johnson rule
12 Capacity planning
13 Inventory management, inventory costs, continuous review system, periodic review system, ABC analysis, inventory control models, economic order quantity model
14 Production model, inventory models with quantity discounts, economic order quantity model regarding shortage, newsvendor model
