Course Objective

To be able to explain the concepts related to economic growth, growth in the past to present theories of growth within the framework of the basic questions to answer, demonstrate the importance of economic growth and conditions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the concepts used in growth analysis and developed theories in this area.
2   To be able to analyze the processes of growth in developed and developing countries in the light of traditional and new growth theories
3   To be able to evaluate determinants of growth and establish their relation with macroeconomic policies.
4   To be able to explain education, information technology, innovation, R & D activities and technological developments and its effects on growth.
5   To be able to evaluate the importance of development of institutions, regulatory and entrepreneurial activities and competitive environment in the development in terms of growth dynamics.
6   To be able to explain firm-level productivity dynamics of the sector and the economy and its effects
7   To be able to discuss the changing concept of growth.
8   To be able to analyze the growth data makes the economy of a country, to develop policy recommendations.

7 Fundamental Analysis Tools Neo-Classical Growth Model, Growth Accounting Method
