Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce students to understand the processes involved when making a reservation and issuing tickets including costings by using Galileo.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the dimensions, nature and significance of informations systems in travel and tourism.
2   Examine and apply reservation procedures used in Galileo.
3   Comprehend and apply both creating as well as editing booking files procedures in Galileo.
4   Examine and apply fare quote procedures in Galileo.
5   Analyze and issue ticketing procedures in Galileo.
6   Work effectively as part of a team participating and interacting in the group in a productive manner for himself/herself and for the group as a whole.

Assessment Criteria

1. Midterm and final examinations will be based on understanding, synthesis and evaluation of the textbook and the lecture material.
2. In class applications are the core of assignments. Verbal participation in class discussions will be graded.
3. Assignments analysis will be based on the application of knowledge, analysis, problem solving and evaluative skills regarding different reservation and ticketing procedures. Case reports should be based on the correct entries for the steps taken in the application of reservation and ticketing procedures.
