Course Objective

The course aims to provide students a complete knowledge of Turkey in terms of its geographical and historical places that play an important role in tourism industry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   List the geographical regions, cities and historical places of Turkey in order to be able to identify tour preparation process and basic tour routes.
2   Recall the three major geographical components of tourism to be able to explain the push and pull factors.
3   List the different forms of tourism activities that take place in Turkey to be able to understand the tourist profile of the country.

1. The student will be able to list and indicate the geographical regions, cities and historical places of Turkey on the map.
2. The student will be able to categorize different forms of tourism activities according to different regions of Turkey.
3. The student will be able to explain the historical background of the most popular historical places in Turkey.
4. The student will be able to describe major geographical components and their characteristics.

1. Attending at least 70 percent of lectures is mandatory.
2. Plagiarism of any type will result in disciplinary action.
3. Tardiness and early departure from the lecture will be referred as absenteeism.
