Course Objective

The aim of the course is to help the learner to be able to translate fformal texts from English into Turkish and from Turkish into English.
The course also aims at interpreting and comprehending formal texts such as international agreements, diplomatic speeches and diplomatic correspondence.

1   Obtain and develop skills in translation.
2   Demonstrate understanding and interpreting formal texts (political and diplomatic).

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1.Lecture: Two or three lecture sessions on the form and language of diplomatic speeches or agreements.
2. Individual work: Translate and formulate diplomatic speeches, notes as written or oral assignments.
3.Group work: Translation exercises will be done during sessions in class.
