Course Objective

The objective of this course is to pursue an investigation to the fundamental dynamics of industrial societies since 1945. Postwar reconstruction (1945-50), the great boom and its disintegration (1950-74) and the years of slow growth (1974 onwards) are the three phases that will be studied. It is the major macroeconomic trends and basic relations (capital-to-capital, capital-to-labor, capital-to-state) that will be explored within this scope.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

2   Student is expected to learn the policy tools of a welfare economy.
3   Student is expected to be able to understand the economic motivations and economic outcomes of the political behaviour.
