Course Objective

The objective of this course is to draw on various theoretical foundations and business cases to develop an understanding of the factors that lead to successful innovation in organizations and manage innovation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the various types of innovation in organizations,
2   Having knowledge on the major organizational barriers to innovation and creativity;
3   Understanding the roles played by leadership and organizational design factors in innovation;
4   Having information on the steps in the innovation process, and mechanisms for directing and controlling the process;
5   Understanding contextual influences on innovation within organizations;
