Course Objective

At the end of this course students, gain knowledge about Intercultural Religious Education and gain awerness for approach to religious education that will contribute to living together.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   gain awerness for intercultural religious education.
2   evaluate religious education in terms of this awerness.
3   put forward an idea the contribution of religious education to peace and living together.
4   obtain information about the understanding of religious education in different cultures in this respect.
5   evaluate the practices of religious education in Turkey within the framework.

9 Discussion I: Pluralism and religious education (RE).
10 Discussion II: Globalization and RE.
11 Discussion III: European Union and RE.
12 Discussion IV: Cultural Lag and RE.
13 Discussion V: IRE and Turkey.
14 Conclusion: The possibility and contribution of IRE.
