Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to encourage students for recognizing and using computers, and to give information about the hardware and software of computers, operating systems, word processing programs, presentation programs, and other programs that can be use in this area and encourage them to promote and actively use of these programs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will have a general knowledge about computers, hardware and software
2   They will obtain information about operating systems and installation forms
3   They know word processing and presentation programs such as Word, PowerPoint and use them effectively
4   They will have information about the programs related to the field and use them
5   Students know the internet and use it effectively in communication

2 Structure and functioning of the computer
3 Computer hardware (Computer case, monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.)
4 Computer hardware (hard disk, motherboard, ram, cpu, power supply, cd/dvd room, etc.)
5 Computer Software (operating systems, word processing programs, Internet navigation programs, and other programs such as Hasenat and Shamela)
6 Operating Systems (Windows, Pardus, Linux, Mac OS, Unix)
7 Operating System (Windows setup, formatting, installation of programs)
8 Midterm Exam
9 Healthy and proper use of the computer
10 Microsoft Word (Home, Insert, Page Layout tabs)
11 Microsoft Word (References, Mailings, Review tabs)
12 Microsoft Word (View, Design tabs)
13 PowerPoint (Home, Insert, Design tabs)
14 PowerPoint (Animations, Slide Show, Review and View tabs)
