Course Objective

To introduce the nature, basic characteristics and socio-cultural foundations of New Religious Movements (NRM) both in Islamic and Christian world; thus to increase student s awareness on religious developments and understandings.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will obtain general knowledge about the nature and characteristics of New Religious Movements
2   They will understand the relation between socio-cultural environments and religious understandings and practices
3   The students will understand changing and transforming character of all traditional systems
4   The students will be able to evaluate new developments of in modern religious systems of the world
5   The students will learn how and why NRM s are transforming towards an establishing and becoming a new traditional systems by the time
