Course Objective

To provide information about the Prophet Muhammad and the period in which he lived within the context of the World History by referring the sources and researches in the framework of the methodology of History.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   have knowledge about the sources of Islamic History; social, religious, and political structure of Arabs in the pre-Islamic period; the pre-prophecy life of Muhammad; the revelation and delivery (tabligh) of the message.
2   be informed about early Muslims and the difficulties they faced; the important events of Mecca period.
3   be informed about the Hijra (migration) to Medina and the important events of Medina period; the battles of the Prophet Muhammad.
4   learn the social, cultural, and political life of Muslims during the period of the Prophet Muhammad; the relations with neighboring countries and tribes.
5   state the life of the Prophet Muhammad, his personality and his contributions to the history of humanity.
