Course Objective |
Islamic tombs (turbah) as a grave structure are one of the valuable architectural heritages of the Islamic civilisation. In this class, the birth and developing process of the tomb buildings will have been examined and then some monumental tombs out of Turkey and their main forms and features will have been introduced. The basic aims of the class to study about the building type of the religious architecture, and its historical-social function in which these buildings are getting gradually taken under protection by local and global organisations, such as One of the World Architectural Heritage The Taj Mahal and the other the Mausoleum of Khwaja Ahmed Yasawi.Also to make students realize the differences regarding architectural images and silhouettes of the tombs in Islamic World. |
