Course Objective

The objective of the course is to introduce the learners the life in business environment from the perspective of a woman executive manager. The course acknowledges that although men and women may enter career life with similar qualifications, they may go through different paths during their professional lives. The course aims to aid students to gain an overview of the business life by providing them a chance to interact with experienced business women.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Acquire knowledge on business environment from the perspective of an executive woman
2   Have a basic understanding of conditions for success as a women manager
3   Understand challenges facing the business executives in a real-life business setting with special emphasis on challenges and problems faced by women executives
4   Understand practical issues in solving real life business problems
5   Get acquainted with executive managers in the class environment
6   Get acquainted with executive managers within the business setting

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. Weekly seminars by invited speakers.
2. Each student will be assigned an executive manager and will have a chance to live through two full days in the business environment under the guidance of the firm s executive manager.
3. Student presentations on their experiences of the firm visits.

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will be able to identify basic practical problems facing business executives, particularly women executives.
2. The learner will have a basic understanding for being a successful manager.
3. The learner will be able to make presentations to their peers and professors.

- A minimum GPA of 2.50 is required to enroll to the class
- It is mandatory to attend tp 70% of the weekly lectures
- It is mandatory to attend to the two full day firm visits.
