Course Objective

The general framework of this course is gradual development of the concept of human rights respectively in national and international spheres after emergence of modern state, and universal and regional mechanisms for the protection of human rights.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to dominate, the theoretical and historical origins of human rights
2   Being able to dominate, political, economical and social reasons of the transition from national dimension to international dimension of human rights
3   Being able to dominate, preparation, content, meaning and value of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
4   Being able to dominate, protection of human rights at he international level within the framework of the United Nations International Human Rights Conventions
5   Being able to identify, International Conventions for the protection of Human Rights at regional level and protections mechanisms introduced by this conventions
6   Being able to examine, politicization of human rights and military, economic or political interventions in case of being used as a means of legitimizing for underdeveloped countries.

2 The historical origins human rights as a limitation for political power and its examples
3 The transition to international level of human rights and its theoretical background
4 From League of Nations to United Nations: foundation, organs, mechanism and contribution to internationalization of human rights
5 The First Practical Reflection of Human Rights in the international area: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, preparation, contents, meaning and value
6 Carried out within the framework of the United Nations international human rights Conventions
7 UN International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
8 BM International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights
9 Other Conventions and Documents related with human rights in United Nations Concept
10 Regional Level Protection of Human Rights: The European Convention on Human Rights and Its Protection Mechanism
11 ECHR, Organization, Functioning and Impact of the Decisions of the Domestic Law of the State Parties
12 American Convention of Human Rights and Its Supervisiory Mechanism
13 African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights and Its Supervisory Mechanism
