Course Objective

Having English equivalents of fundamental legal concepts ascertained, improving the ability of making translations from English to Turkish and by this way, having English texts of legal decisions and treatises analyzed easily.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to ascertain English equivalents of fundamental legal concepts.
2   To be able to express English legal concepts particular to Human Rights Law.
3   To be able to analyze the fundamental legal texts about rule of law and democracy.
4   To be able to make translation of fundamental legal concepts in both language.
5   To have a competence of using the concepts about human rights and law in international juridical decisions especially the decisions of European Court of Human Rights.

5 Translated texts of civil law: Concept of individual
6 Translated texts of trade law: Concept of corporation; translation of English concepts of private law
7 Writing English compositions about public law
8 Making translations from English about state of law
9 Making translations from English about social state
10 Translations of conventions about human rights
11 Translations of Human Rights Court s decisions.
12 Writing English compositions about human rights law and writing first 15 articles of Constitution of 1982 in English.
