Course Objective

In this class, the constitutionalism idea in Ottoman and Republic period, the basic specifications of the constitutions of 1876-1921-1924-1961 and 1982, their regulations relating to state organization, fundamental rights and freedoms system and the practices of these constitutions, and the political and constitutional regime of their time will be lectured.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain constitutionalism in Ottoman period.
2   To be able to compare the constitutions of 1876 and 1921.
3   To be able to explain the constitution of 1924 and the political regime of its time.
4   To internalize the basic specifications of the constitution of 1961 and the constitutional institutions.
5   To explain the basic specifications of the constitution of 1982, the state system and fundamental rights-freedoms system which it brought.
