Course Objective

This course aims to teaching the basic mechanical issues, conservation of momentum, energy, fluid mechanics, given issues of heat and temperature, the basic quantities of elementary physics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Performs arithmetic operations on vectors, scalar and vector products.
2   Defines physical quantities using standard units
3   Defines the basic concepts related to movements.
4   Examines the motion of an object in 2 or 3 dimensions.
5   Describes regular and unregular circular motion.
6   Calculates the velocity of a moving object according to two different reference systems
7   Determines the evolution of an object using Newton's laws of motion
8   Defines the concepts of work-energy and power
9   Applies the conservation laws of momentum to one and two dimensional collisions.
10   Describes the relationship between rotational motion and angular momentum
11   Calculates elastic properties of objects using Hooke's law.
12   Designs experiments involving mechanical concepts
