Course Objective

Aims of this course is to give the thermodynamics which is a phenomenological theory of equilibrium states and transitions among them. It identifies the correct macroscopic variables to use, and serves as a guide post for statistical mechanics

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   It is to understand mainly the laws of thermodynamics and its applications.
2   Being able to give microscopic interpretation of entropy and of the second law.
3   Being able to give phase transitions and chemical reactions.
4   Being able to understand thermodynamics potentials.
5   Being able to understand the statistical physics course in next semester.

1. The homework and mid-term exams of the student is assessed as the achievement of them in the semester.
2. At %40 score of final examination is added directly to the others.
