Course Objective

This course aims to explore the impact and the backlash of WWII on personal, social and cultural levels and to examine the search for personal and social identity and meaning.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to identify the postwar atmosphere in literary texts
2   to examine the impact of WWII on both personal lives and social and cultural levels in literary texts
3   to analyze concepts such as alienation, loneliness and loss of the postwar period in America in the literary texts
4   to evaluate the texts with a critical mind
