Course Objective

Turkey's geographical position and physical features are going to be elaborated in details. Also, by emphasizing socioeconomical aspects, geopolitical characteristics of Turkey and its place in the World politics and by student participation it will be assured that the subjects are clearly understood.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehension of Turkey's mathematical and special position features.
2   Comprehension of characteristics of Turkey's habitat (geological, geomorphological, climatology, hydrography, soil and vegetation).
3   Analyzing Turkey's human (population, settlement) and economical (agriculture, livestock, industry, trade, tourism and transportation, etc.) aspects.
4   Explaining the geopolitic and geostrategic situation in the region Turkey exists, by giving examples.
5   Evaluating Turkey's geostrategic position and importance in the region, according to other countries.
