Course Objective

The aim of the course is to introduce the Turkish art and traditional Turkish painting concept; Central Asia, chronology and culture areas; to examine the Hun animal style samples and their relation with beliefs in the murderous finds and wall paintings, portraits of Göktürk tomb stones; Uighur period wall paintings and miniatures; The characteristics of the new style of representation that emerged during the Turkish-Islamic era and the ban on depictions in Islam; Karahanli, Gazneli and Great Seljuk periods depict the characteristics of the style; Examples of Great Seljuk Period; Anatolian Seljuk period figurative examples of plastic, tile and ceramic arts, Anatolian Seljuk period depicted tomb stones; To ensure that the process of formation and development of the depictive style extending from Central Asia to Anatolia is understood by the presentation of relevant publications and images.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1.Knows the concept of Turkish art and traditional Turkish painting art; Central Asian Steppe Art - the Early Age Turkish Art.
2   2. Knows the relationship between the Kurgan finds, rock paintings (petroglyphs) and murals of Hun animal styles and beliefs.
3   3. knows the characteristics and development of the new style of depiction formed during the Turkish-Islamic era; depictions of Göktürk grave stones; Uighur period wall paintings and miniatures and the ban on depicting it in Islam and its effects on traditional Turkish painting.
4   4. Knows the effects of Traditional Turkish Painting Art on contemporary Turkish painting art.

2 Introduction to Turkish art and concepts of traditional Turkish painting art. Examples of the Great Seljuk Period; Anatolian Seljuk period figurative examples of plastic, tile and ceramic art
