Course Objective

Gain behaviors to music teacher candidates, to use their own voices healty, correct, beautiful and effective in speech and singing and gain competence in voice training instructor.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns basic information to use natural and healthy his/her own voice.
2   Learns basic information to human voice system and physiology.
3   Learns basic information to protect his/her own voice health.
4   Gains the knowledge and application skill for training of child and adolescent voice.
5   Gains basic information concerned with opera and polyphonic vocal literature.
6   Learns different songs from world vocal literature.
7   Gains ability to singing in front of the people through the concerts.
8   Gets the lifelong learning habit.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Technical exercises for prepare to lesson. Giving information about opera repertoire and selection of arias that appropriate level of student.
2 Technical exercises and studies on the selected songs.
3 Technical exercises. Giving information about the different styles of singing and application studies on the selected songs.
4 Technical exercises. Continuation of the same studies.
5 Technical exercises and strengthening studies with piano accompaniment of songs.
6 Technical exercises. Studies on the examination songs.
7 Study week course repetition and Mid-term exam
8 Course repetition and Mid-term exam
9 Technical exercises. Studies on the songs of contemporary Turkish composers.
10 Studies on the sample songs from Lied, Arie Antique, Opera Arias, Neapolitans, Musicals and songs with piano accompaniment of Turkish composers.
11 Continuation to the studies related selected songs.
12 Giving information about the training of child and adolescent voice and application studies. Studies on stages of teaching songs in primary schools.
13 Technical exercises, working on examination songs, detection and elimination of deficiencies.
14 Technical exercises. Strengthening studies with piano accompaniment and memorization of examination songs.
15 Final exam
