Course Objective

The aim of the course is to teach basic concepts of social studies and its relation with field teaching; basic aims of teaching social studies; selection and arrangement of content suitable for these purposes; strategies, principles, approaches, methods and techniques to be used in teaching the field.

1   To be able to comprehend basic concepts of social studies and its relation with field teaching
2   To be able to Explain and classify the main purposes of teaching social studies
3   To be able to explain the approaches and principles adopted in the selection and arrangement of content appropriate for the purposes of social studies
4   To be able to explain strategies, methods and techniques that can be used in social studies teaching
5   To be able to develop appropriate course plan by determining appropriate strategies, methods and techniques for social studies content
