Course Objective

The purpose of this course, is to get the teacher candidates comrehend important economic, political and social developments that occurred between 1453 and 1914in Europe and in the world and the impact of these developments to the Ottoman Empire.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehends the developments that prepared the discovery of the world in real terms and the consequences.
2   Comprehends the developments that prepared the rise of Europe.
3   Comprehends the impact of economic and political developments in Europe on the Ottoman Empire.
4   Understands the effects of 19. century technological, economic and political developments on the 20th century
5   Understands the conditions prepared the mass society.
6   Analyzes the causes of the two major wars in the 20 th century.
